Silent Bells
In Merchant and Ivory's film "Howard's End" there is a scene in a wooded area where the ground is totally covered in Blue Bells. Years later I have finally completed a painting of that complicated image. Now, I understand why the Blue Bells were blurred in the movie...Blurring spreads the blue and that gives additional emphasis to the flowers. My picture is a finely detailed (not blurred) composition. When and if you notice my Blue Bells, they come across as more of an added treat. The painting took one hundred and forty hours and one quintuple bypass to complete. |
